The Sender Identification Requirement in Hatch

All SMS messages in your Hatch Campaign sequences must include Sender-Identification

All SMS messages in your Hatch Campaign sequences must include the [[Details Company Name]] snippet. We will be updating all campaigns for you on April 10.

Due to new TCPA rules, all SMS messages in your Hatch Campaign sequences must include the [[Details Company Name]] snippet as a form of Sender-Identification. As a result, we will be updating all of your SMS Campaign Messages that do not include this snippet on April 10.

However, if you want to update your campaigns yourself, you are more than welcome - but please do so by 5pm ET on April 10.

Here’s an example of what the changes will look like:

  Original New
Launch day Hi [[Contact First Name]], it's [[User First Name]] with [[Details Company Name]]. I got your information from the form you submitted. Text me back with what you are looking for! Reply END to stop texts. No Changes: It has always been a requirement to include Sender-Identification in the very first SMS message.
Day 3

Hi [[Contact First Name]]. I haven’t heard back since you submitted your form. Text me back with the details.

Hi [[Contact First Name]], this is [[User First Name]] with [[Details Company Name]]. I haven’t heard back since you submitted your form. Text me back with the details.
Day 4 Hi [[Contact First Name]]. Are you still looking to get work done? Text me back with details, I would love to help.

Hi [[Contact First Name]]. Are you still looking to get work done? Text me back with details, I would love to help.

Day 5 Hi [[Contact First Name]] - Following up again on the form you submitted - are you still interested? I would love to help! Hi [[Contact First Name]][[User First Name]] from [[Details Company Name]] reaching out one last time. Are you still interested?
We understand that not every SMS in campaigns across our customer accounts follows our template and is unique to your business. We’ll be making adjustments dynamically based on the existing messaging in each SMS, so that the snippet fits in naturally with the existing message.
Note: As we make these changes for Sender-Identification, we may make additional updates to change outdated Opt-Out language to ensure compliance.

FAQs

Are any other snippets required?

No! The only requirement is that the [[Details Company Name]] snippet (which inserts your company name), is included in the message as a form of sender-identification. Additional snippets like [[User First Name]] (the name on your Hatch Board) or [[Contact First Name]] (the name of the contact you are messaging) are totally optional.

Does this apply to all texts?

No! The requirement only affects SMS messages sent before a contact responds—specifically, your Hatch Campaigns.

Once a contact replies, you are having an ongoing conversation and you’re no longer required to include your company name as a form of Sender Identification.

All SMS (text) messages in each step of the sequence for a campaign need the [[Details Company Name]] snippet, see image above.

Do I have to change emails and voicemails too?

No! This only applies to SMS.

Why the change?

Mobile carriers have recently increased enforcement of SMS self-identification rules—meaning all messages must clearly state your company name before a contact responds. Messages that don’t comply will either be blocked or your number could be deactivated.

What happens if I don’t change my campaigns?

This is a required change based on TCPA compliance, so we’ll be updating all campaigns on April 10 that aren’t yet updated. However, you do have the option to update your campaigns yourself.

What if my SMSs already have the company name snippet?

Any SMS messages that already have the snippet will not be changed.
